Pinedale, is located in Navajo County, Arizona and is at an elevation of 6500 ft. The community is located on the north eastern part of the Mogollon Rim mountain range. The town was first named Mortenson, Pinedale was established by Neils Mortenson whom was a Mormon settler and made settlement in 1879. Pinedale is also known as Percheron. The name Percheron derived from the breed of stallions which Mortenson had brought with him. In 1988 it was name Pinedale. The road into Pinedale is the only covered bridge in Arizona.
